Asano lamps are hand made in the Gifu region of Japan, applying the traditional lantern making techniques practiced for the last century. This collection of Washi paper table lamps were designed by Uchida in 1990, and are characterized by their simple shapes and warm, diffused illumination. Asana lamps derive their shapes from a wire coil that supports a continuous spiral of bamboo filament and rice paper, and are equally beautiful whether displayed individually or in groups.
